Karen Marie Moning is the paranormal romance author of the Fever series. It is a total of five books, about a girl named Mac, short for Mackenzie, who travels to Dublin, Ireland to investigate her sister’s murder. There she discovers that she can see the Seelie and Unseelie who are walking the earth in disguise.
Of course, she meets a very mysterious man who is the epitome of tall dark and handsome. He has magical powers and has connections to Seelie artifacts, but does not belong to the Seelie or Unseelie court. It isn’t until book five that you find out whether he is good or bad. But he is there to help Mac from the beginning, though no one can tell if it is with ulterior motives. In book one, Mac discovers that her sister was looking for a magical book, the same magical book that her mysterious man is looking for. So that becomes her mission as well.
She has a great many adventures where she meets all different kinds of breeds of magical beings, all of them are from the Fae mythology that originated from Ireland. Moning even has an interesting spin on the vampire folklore that is quite original.
The fever series is full of action, adventure, suspense and romance. As soon as you read the first page, you will be sucked into the story and will be sad when the book comes to an end. Especially since books one through four end with major cliffhanger endings. This series is highly recommended by this author.
